About us

Created on April 16, 2007 by a group of young professionals and entrepreneurs of Latin-American origin, the Latin-American Chamber of Commerce (CCLAQ) is a non-profit organization. Occupying a unique market niche in Quebec, the CCLAQ is the first chamber of commerce to group members of all Latin-American countries.

Unlike all other Latin-American non-profit groups, the CCLAQ stands out by the diversity in origins of its constituents while privileging the common interests that unite the residents of first and second generation Latin-Americans and the numerous latinophiles. Furthermore, the gathering and Pan-American spirit allows us to turn to Quebec, what it can offer and its strengths.

A little bit of history...

The Latin-American community has been established in Quebec for over forty years and its immigration profile has substantially evolved in recent years. During the census of 2001, the Latin-American community was comprised of over 65,000 people, mostly from Chile, El Salvador, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala and Dominic Republic.

During the last seven years, Quebec has received over 35,000 Latin-American immigrants. However, this time they were mostly from Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina and Venezuela. With their experiences and knowledge, Latin-Americans are ready to give back and to contribute to the progress of new immigrants, as well as to the development of Quebec. Among the new immigrants, many professionals of all types can be noted, all desirous of integrating rapidly and of contributing to the economic development of Quebec, the land that welcomed them.
